REMOTE WORKING This role will be primarily based onsite full-time. Due
to the front-facing nature of this role it is not envisaged that
blended working will be available to this role unless Government
guidelines state otherwise.
LOCATION: TU Dublin Students Union operates on the following campuses
* Blanchardstown Campus
* City Campus (Aungier Street, Bolton Street and Grangegorman)
* Tallaght Campus
This role will be primarily based in TU Dublin Grangegorman Lower
House Building, but travel to other locations may be required.

This is a 5 Day a week position with a 6-month probation period, based
in Dublin.
THE ORGANISATION
TU Dublin Students? Union is currently in a period of exciting
change with the development of the new state-of-the-art campus at
Grangegorman and having recently become Ireland?s first
Technological University.
TU Dublin Students? Union is unusual in Ireland in that the
operations of the Students? Union are run by a company limited by
guarantee. The company is owned by the Students of TU Dublin by virtue
of their membership of the Union.
The company does not involve itself with the Politics of the elected
representatives of the Students? Union and instead is tasked with
the operational functions of the Union including:
* Financial Management
* Human Resourcing
* Risk Management
Other administrative functions such as operational policy development
and office management.
THE ROLE
This is an exciting role in TU Dublin SU, Ireland?s
largest?Students??Union,?with extensive opportunities to
participate in?the development?and?delivery?of?our?core
services?for our student?members and Elected Officers.
This is an operational and logistical role that is designed to support
and collaborate with the team on providing a front of house services
to the students of TU Dublin through our flagship location in the
Lower House in Grangegorman, and also through outreach programmes to
our other locations in the city centre, namely Tallaght and
Blanchardstown.
This is not a representational role.
This role would suit someone who works well in a dynamic environment.
Due to its multi-faceted nature, the candidate should be able to show
initiative and work well as part of a team. It will require some
flexible working.
The TU Dublin Students Union Hub is a busy space and plays a key role
in providing a positive stakeholder experience to our students. As
well as welcoming point of contact for students it will be a thriving
service delivery point for our student body, providing a range of
services core to their university experience.
In conjunction with their manager, this role will be responsible for
ensuring the smooth running of our new TU Dublin SU Hub in
Grangegorman. As well as managing the day-to-day logistics of the
service point, it will work on identifying new services for our
students and help to provide them, as well as promoting the service.
It will also function as an administrative role for overseeing our
spaces in Grangegorman and providing support to our elected team.
As an organisation run for students and by students, we expect the
role to maintain the ethos of the organisation in all work matters.
CORE DUTIES:
* Ensuring the Hub is an excellent first point of contact for
signposting students or providing general information to our student
members
* Liaising with the student staff on recruiting, training,
rostering, and supporting them in their role
* Oversight of the student travel card sales system
* Overseeing our e-sales systems including managing our popular
Class Hoody system and on-line shop
* Ordering, invoicing, and managing stock control and other services
as run through the Hub
* Managing local cash systems, opening, and closing balances, audit
reports, liaising with the Finance Executive for the Hub services
* Identifying areas of expansion of service and outreach programs
beyond Lower House. Working with the Tallaght and Blanch teams to
offer localized services to our members
* Providing administrative support to our Events and Marketing
operations such as on-line ticketing, processing insurances, Risk
Assessments etc.
* Responsible for promotion of the Student Union Hub service via the
website and relevant social media channels
* Point of contact for facilities issues in the Lower House and
Bradogue for our common room spaces. Liaising with university staff or
external suppliers as is necessary for the smooth running of the
spaces
* Supporting Students Union events run on-site such as set-up etc.
* Administration of general office duties, managing deliveries, room
bookings, catering, Risk Assessments, some light scheduling of the
Elected Team based in Lower House etc.
REQUIREMENTS
In-house training will be provided on all elements of the role.
_ESSENTIAL:_
* A minimum of 2 years? current experience in a customer
service/front facing role
* Excellent IT skills are required with including Advanced Microsoft
Word, Excel and PowerPoint
_DESIRABLE:_
* Previous retail experience
* Previous experience working with third-level students and/or youth
groups
* Previous experience using social media for an organisation
* Project experience, seeing an opportunity and working on a
logistical option to offer a service
* Strong organisational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced
environment.
* Ability to troubleshoot tricky situations, and deal with them
calmly, efficiently, and effectively
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills
